Swan Lake NWR, MO: 6-7-19

Young Great Crested Flycatcher

Eating bugs along the roadside

Handsome 4-5 foot Black Racer greeted us

Before slowly ambling away

Domestic Ducks

Male Baltimore Oriole

Lots of Coyote scat was present along the trails

Female Common Whitetail Dragonfly

Killdeers were the only shorebirds we saw in the refuge

If only more fishermen were more cautious

Georgia’s state bird, the Brown Thrasher, was anting in the warm rocks on the roadway.
