Big Stone NWR, MN: 6-20-19





Male Yellow-headed Blackbird






These birds have one of the most unique and interesting bird calls.  It’s been described as a strange mixture of honking, gurgling, and strangling noises.

The only Green Heron we saw after leaving Florida.





Male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.  This was by far the most common woodpecker species we saw.
