Steller Sea Lions- Alaska: 9-18




Large numbers gather seasonally to pup and breed on well-defined, traditionally-used rookeries.








About 70% of the world’s population reside in Alaskan waters.





They are the largest of the eared seals.





Distribution is restricted to North Pacific Ocean and the Bering Sea






Males are up to 11 feet long and weigh just over 2,000 pounds.





These are young males.  The females are out at sea.
