Bird Survey 3-18-19

The iconic Don Cesar Resort on St Pete Beach

How the Double-crested Cormorant got its name

These double crests are only present in the breeding season. Interestingly they are white in cormorants from Alaska but are black in other regions.

The Fish Crow at the bottom right of the sign was loudly squawking at the Osprey.

This Osprey was on the chimney of the house across the canal from the Howard’s dock as we left in the morning.

It’s amazing all the places a preening Brown Pelican can get with that large bill
