Great Blue Herons at Sweetwater Wetlands in Gainesville, FL: 11-17-18

It was hot so this Great Blue Heron was gulating with its tongue out  to help cool itself






Takeoff 





These large herons live in both fresh and saltwater habitats, and also forage in grasslands and agricultural fields, where they stalk frogs, lizards, snakes and small mammals.
