Male Vermilion Flycatcher: St Marks NWR (2-21-17)

The male often seeks to initiate copulation by delivering a butterfly or other showy insect to the female.

This male is simply eating the insect.  There were no females around and they don't nest in Florida anyway.

The breeding males spend about 90% of the day perched.

12 subspecies of Vermilion Flycatcher are recognized, including a race with a dark morph that ranges from western Peru to northern Chile.
