Blackwater River State Park, FL: 4-9-18

One of the most pristine rivers in the nation.  It has a sandy bottom, white beaches and sandbars which are a sharp contrast to the dark tannic water that gives the river its name.  It typically flows 2-3 mph with an average depth of 2 1/2 feet.

Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher

A pair of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers can build up to seven nests in a breeding season.  They often re-use nest material from previous nests, which speeds re-nesting.
