Hoonah, Alaska: 7-21&7-22, 2016

Delphinus Trip #1 started in Hoonah, Alaska.  We always arrive 2 days ahead of time in case there are weather delays which can wreak havoc with leaving on schedule.

Bald Eagles wet in the rain

This pair had one chick
It's so interesting the difference in climate makes as the eagle chicks in St Pete fledge in January or early Feb.

Low tide from our room in the Icy Strait Lodge

High tide the next morning

No one could figure out why theses dental chairs were in the front yard at the lodge.

Nice home

Wonder what the driver was drinking?

Fireweed

On our first day of the Delphinus, First Mate and Naturalist Extraordinaire, John Kipping, caught this 45" halibut that supplied us with many fish meals

45 lbs

Wine
