Grayton Beach State Park: Saturday, 2-18-17

Handsome pair of Bald Eagles nests near the park.

Brown-headed Nuthatches

These are one of the few birds found almost exclusively in the US and are restricted to the pine forests on the southeastern states (though there is a small and declining population in the Bahamas).

Nests of these birds are regularly attended by extra birds, usually young males.

American Robin

The state bird of Michigan

and Wisconsin

These birds are resident or short-distance migrants.  They can actually be found year round almost anywhere south of Canada.
