Today (Friday, June 24, 2016) we hit 3 states. We started the day in New York (Shawangunk Grasslands NWR) then went into New Jersey (High Point State Park) and are now camped in Pennsylvania at the southern end of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area). I will work on today's photos and publish that post Saturday morning.
Interesting and sad note at the KOA where we are camped. We called in earlier today and gave them our Credit Card number to reserve a space for tonight as many places fill completely on weekends now that school is out and families are out in force. When we arrived the lady at the desk (who, in the small world category, had grown up in Pinellas Park for the first 40 years of her life!) asked to see our credit card and ID (in almost all other camp grounds if we have called in for a reservation they rarely ask for my credit card again and almost never ask for my ID). Out of curiosity I asked her why she wanted both items and was shocked to hear her answer. She said that several times they have had a credit card number called in from someone who has stolen the card from the rightful owner. And that before they started asking people for their card and swiped it, 14 times last year alone, families with kids who had stayed in their campground for an entire weekend had then told the credit card company that "No. We never stayed there. The charges from the KOA are wrong." Since the KOA had not swiped their credit card, they had no proof that the family had actually stayed in their park so they lost significant amounts of money.
Bay of Fundy
Catbird singing rather than just making its meow call that we're used to hearing in Florida
Gulls on the beach where they rest and then eat in the waters of the Bay of Fundy
Gulls on Long Pond, just over the berm from the Bay of Fundy. Here they bathe and drink.
