Day 1 - April 20, 2016
After a 342 mile drive we are
camped along a lake near the Savannah NWR where we will bird at first light
tomorrow. There were several Mute Swans on the lake. So beautiful
and graceful to watch.
1. The BirdMobile at
the campsite
2. Canada Geese were
also on the lake
3. As were Anhingas and
Double-crested Cormorants
7-8. With only one
cygnet, this speaks toward lots of predators in the area, probably both avian
(hawks, eagles, owls) and terrestrial (coyotes, raccoons, dogs and feral cats).
9-11. Junior clambering back
on board its mother's back
