Male Baltimore Oriole
It is the state bird of Maryland and the baseball Baltimore Orioles were named after this bird.
White-tailed Deer
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
These tiny birds lay a very large clutch of eggs - there can be up to 12 in a single nest!
Although the eggs themselves weigh only about a fiftieth of an ounce, an entire clutch can weigh as much as the female herself.
They seem nervous as they flit through the foliage, flicking their wings constantly.
Trying to photograph them is like trying to catch children in a playground.
It's hard to believe but metabolic studies suggest that these tiny birds use only about 10 calories per day.
Only rarely do they show their "ruby crown."
